Neretva river

The Neretva River, flows through Bosnia and Hercegovina and Croatia. It rises on Lebršnik Mountain and flows northwest past Konjic to Jablanica (Jablanicko) Lake, then southwest via Mostar to enter the Adriatic Sea. Its total length is 225 km. The upper course of the river runs through canyons and gorges in uninhabited region. The Jablanica Dam created a lake for a hydroelectric station. The lower valley of the Neretva enjoys the Mediterranean climate of the Dalmatian coast.
